Background
Samir received a degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in 2016.
After graduating, he went on to work for the automaker General Motors in Detroit, Michigan, which included a three-year assignment as the lead investigator into allegations of human rights violations in the company’s supply chain. He was also responsible for editing and publishing the company’s expanded Supplier Code of Conduct.
His experience at GM sparked an interest in investigative reporting and writing. After leaving the company in 2025, he transitioned to a career in freelance journalism, with a focus on family history preservation and human interest stories.
Samir is based out of his hometown of Toledo, Ohio, but travels regionally to meet clients.
